Dear Residents of Graettinger,

As another summer draws to a close, we wish to remind all golf cart owners and operators within the City of Graettinger of the importance of maintaining an updated golf cart registration. The City requires annual registration of all golf carts operating on city streets, and registration must be renewed by December 31 of each year.

Keeping your golf cart registration current is essential for the safe and legal operation of your vehicle within city limits. Registration ensures that all golf carts meet the standards set by the City of Graettinger and comply with state law, including the provisions of Chapter 321 of the Code of Iowa.

Please review the following important reminders to help you remain in compliance:

·       Annual Registration: All golf carts must be registered with the City. The registration is valid from the date of issue through December 31 of the same year. Renewals are due by December 31 annually.

·       Required Documentation: A valid driver's license is required to operate a golf cart on city streets.

·       Equipment: All golf carts must be equipped with a properly functioning bicycle safety flag at all times during operation, as well as adequate brakes to ensure safety.

·       Compliance: Golf carts are subject to all applicable provisions of Chapter 321 of the Code of Iowa, as well as City of Graettinger ordinances. Please familiarize yourself with these requirements to avoid penalties.

Registration Plate and Sticker: No person shall operate a golf cart on city streets without a current registration. Each registered golf cart must display a plate and sticker issued by the City, evidencing valid registration.

If you no longer own a golf cart, we kindly ask that you notify the City Clerk, so our records remain accurate and up to date.

Your cooperation helps keep Graettinger a safe and enjoyable community for all residents. Should you have any questions about the registration process or requirements, please do not hesitate to contact the City Clerk’s office.

Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
